What is NFC technology
Contactless data transmission NFC has been used for years. The abbreviation NFC comes from English and means Near Field Communication. RFID technology is used for the transmission. The frequency 13.56 MHz is used worldwide as a standard. As a rule, transmission ranges of up to ten centimetres are possible with this technology.
What is NFC technology?
NFC technology can be used in the form of an NFC tag. This is a memory chip equipped with a coiled, spiral-shaped antenna. The system is smaller than a euro piece. Depending on requirements, a memory capacity of between 168 and 2048 bytes is available. An electromagnetic induction using RFID technology ensures a transmission range of up to 10 centimetres.
Different NFC modes
One NFC function is the card emulation mode. Here, the smartphone can take over the function of the contactless card. These cards are often used in hotels or businesses to give customers, employees or guests access to a certain area. Anyone who wants to use a smartphone as a credit card simply has to place it on the reader when paying at the checkout. Payment for the goods is made immediately. With peer-to-peer mode, a tablet or smartphone communicates with other terminals. With the reader/writer mode, the contents of the chip can be read with a smartphone. Such a chip can be found in smart posters. The function offers the advantage that visitors hold their smartphone in front of the chip, a web page opens and a ticket for the concert can be purchased directly.
What are the advantages of NFC business cards?
They are not only considered practical, but also sustainable. The business cards make it easier to save new contacts in the computer or on the smartphone. If a business partner has an NFC business card, it simply has to be held up to their own NFC-enabled smartphone. The data can be saved directly in an address book. This saves a lot of time and prevents mistakes when copying out the business card. By saving the contact data directly, it can be ensured that they are no longer lost.
As a rule, NFC business cards are made of PET or PVC. This makes them very high quality and durable compared to classic business cards made of paper. The data on the chip can be changed quickly and easily at any time. This means that if a name or address changes, the business card does not have to be disposed of and reordered. The possibility of changing data offers the advantage that it can be used for years. No unnecessary resources are wasted.
Individual design options
NFC business cards can be freely designed. In addition to the company name, name and address, data such as e-mail address, telephone number, socia media accounts or a YouTube Chanel can also be stored. Even photos find enough space on the modern business card. Data transfer is fast and secure. With the NFC business card, an up-to-date contact address is always available. The data can be adjusted as often as desired. There are no monthly fees for using the card.

Near Field Communication is an international transmission standard based on RFID technology for the contactless exchange of data by electromagnetic induction using loosely coupled coils over short distances of a few centimetres and a data transmission rate of maximum 424 kBit/s.
